TITANIC Dolls & Keepers
Years ago, pixel dolls were all the rage. So many graphic artists were creating such cute little pixel base graphics. You could literally just look up pixel dolls, and site after site would pop. Only a few sites still exist today, but most are not updated any longer. Dedication pages would not be complete without these cute TITANIC dolls that I adopted so long ago.
These first dolls were drawn by Guin. She was the first pixel doll artist that I came across that had drawn all the dresses related to the movie. These dolls were definitely some of my favorites and I have displayed them with some of my favorite movie scenes and quotes. 🥰
"It was the ship of dreams to everyone else. To me...it was a slave ship taking me back to America in chains. Outwardly, I was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, I was screaming."
"By the next afternoon we had made our final stop and we were steaming west from the coast of Ireland, with nothing out ahead of us but ocean..."
"Do you know of Dr. Freud, Mr. Ismay? His idea about the male preoccupation with size might be of particular interest to you. Excuse me."
"I saw my whole life as if I had already lived it. An endless parade of parties and cotillions, yachts and polo matches. Always the same narrow people, the same mindless chatter. I felt like I was standing at a great precipice with no one to pull me back. No one who cared, or even noticed."
"You know there's nothing I couldn't give you. There's nothing I'd deny you, if you would not deny me. Oh, open your heart to me, Rose."
"I thought you were leaving."
"I am. You are so annoying."
"Ha, ha."
"Wait, I don't have to leave, this is my part of the ship. You leave."
"Oh ho, ho, well well well, now who's being rude?"
"I saw that in a nickelodeon once and I always wanted to do it."
"I see you had that undertaker of a manservant follow me. How typical."
"This is not a game. Our situation is precarious. You know the money's gone."
"Of course I know it's gone. You remind me everyday."
"Hello Jack. I changed my mind."
"The last thing I need is another picture of me looking like a porcelain doll. As a paying customer,
I expect to get what I want."
"When this ship docks, I'm getting off with you."
"This is crazy."
"I know. It doesn't make any sense. That's why I trust it."
" A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets. But now you know there was a man named Jack Dawson, and that he saved me, in every way that a person can be saved. I don't even have a picture of him. He exists now only in my memory. "
Amylynne created some fantastic Rose dolls wearing all the dresses from the movie. Her policy states they are not adoptable, but you can view them on her site. They are under Dolls - Characters & Celebrities - Kate Winslet.
Tons of fansites and fanfiction sites popped up after James Cameron's movie was released. They offered graphics, games and quizzes to play, keepers, plaques, adoptions - you name it. In a lot of ways, it was an obsession. Yes. Obsession. That is the correct word.
My custom TITANIC sig-tag that was made for me to display on my website or use in emails. I think her name was Carol who made it, but it's been like 84 years. 🤪
My TITANIC Blends, Etc.
I have never been a graphic artist, but I have played around in PSP and now GIMP. The below blends are now several years old and were made using PSP 7. Nothing spectacular, but hey - I impressed myself and that is all that matters. =D
This little RMS Titanic was drawn by my son in MS Paint back in 2009, when he was 9 years old.
My little pixel Titanic
I drew in PSP 7 & GIMP.
