Busy as a Bee as they say...

My job is going great and I am learning quite a few things. I work Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, and Wednesdays I work remote. The agency is closed on all major holidays and some extra days as well. My mentor has taken me under her wing and is showing me the ropes. I found out that I am going to be one of the three (supposed to be four) Tarrant County routers we have in my region for routing cases to the different APS units. 😮 Talk about an anxiety spike. LOL! I was also put on the RMTS circuit the other day as the Unit Facilitator for the two units that I support. Soon, I will have my notary public through the state.

If you are wondering exactly what I do, then I will let you wonder no more. I am an Administrative Assistant II for Adult Protective Services, which is part of the Department of Family and Protective Services. I have two units that I assist with DP letters, desk reviews, notarizing documents, sending closed casefiles to records management, and working Switchboard - which is basically the front desk answering phone calls, taking messages, and signing people in and out for visits. I will also route cases that come in from our statewide intake (SWI) to units in my region, which I am currently still in training for. The units consist of caseworkers and investigators. I will also be responsible for making sure all Random Moment In Time (RMTS) are called out answered correctly by the participants. RMTS is a tool used by the state to measure what a person is doing during a moment of time during the workday. A specific date and time are chosen and assigned to the participant to identify what activity s/he is doing at that time. This has to do with state funds that are allocated to us. If these are missed and cannot be validated, then our agency loses funding for programs and client services, and possible job positions as well. I have never been a notary public before so this will definitely be new to me. Most of the documents I will notarize will more than likely be court related.

So far everyone that I have met and been in meetings with has been very supportive and welcoming. I could not ask for a better team to work for! 😊
